Yesterday, Thursday, July 25th, we had the honor of hosting the inauguration of the installation ‘Biomaterials AR Chandelier’ (2024) by British artist Anna Dumitriu at the Russiz Superiore Winery.
The work explores how biomaterials and augmented reality art can influence sustainability and the circular economy in the wine industry.
The installation, inspired by the shapes of nature and the winery at Russiz Superiore, recreates a chandelier using biomaterials derived from wine waste, and activates a generative augmented reality app, #artandwineAR, offering each user a unique experience. It is also accompanied by sonification of fermentation data produced by IoT corks in the barrels of the Marco Felluga winery.
The project was carried out in collaboration with the EU STARTS Better Factory: Internet of Art and Wine (IoWA) Project and the Serbian tech company BUBAMARA-V.
