Russiz Superiore: Cru di Marco Felluga
Located in Capriva del Friuli, in the heart of Collio, Russiz Superiore is regarded as the Cru of Marco Felluga. Acquired by Marco Felluga in 1967, it is a historic estate long renowned for producing fine white wines of elegance and depth, with the ability to evolve beautifully over time.
The name Russiz comes from the geographical name of the hills where the vineyards are located, while “Superiore” refers to the estate’s privileged position within the Collio landscape. Closely connected to the history of the Torre Tasso princes, a noble family whose presence in these lands endured for centuries, Russiz Superiore preserves more than 700 years of history, bringing together tradition, identity and a continuous pursuit of quality.
The Eagle of Collio
The emblem of Russiz Superiore is the eagle, inspired by the coat of arms of the Torre Tasso princes, a noble family that arrived in Friuli in 1273 and remained closely connected for centuries to the lands where the estate stands today. The eagle evokes the aristocratic and feudal history of Russiz Superiore, as well as its elevated position overlooking the surrounding hills.
The vineyards
The estate covers approximately 100 hectares, 46 of which are planted with vineyards, with a planting density of around 6,000 vines per hectare. Production highlights Collio’s natural vocation for fine white wines, while also giving space to red wines of character and depth that reveal another expression of the territory. Each vineyard parcel is approached with care, giving rise to elegant, balanced and distinctive wines designed to express the identity of Russiz Superiore and its ability to evolve over time.
